gift-a-day #16 ... it's in the bag!

messenger bags are hot! i don't know about you, but when i'm all bundled up in the winter the last thing i want to worry about is whether my bag is going to fall off my shoulder in my slick puffy coat ... so my winter bag is always a messenger bag, it stays in place and my hands are free to carry other things (like shopping bags!).

gift-a-day #10 ... field notes

hey, are you guys familiar with this product line? i recently fell in love with it, the 3-pak of purse-size notebooks has a list of ideas for using it which include: inspired ramblings, half-ass calculations, escape routes, illegible autographs, shady transactions, gambling debts, loose promises. i love it. the calendar has the most excellent list on the back of "real big days", a list of unconventional holidays such as the best day to can, pickle or make sauerkraut, national visit the zoo day, bowling ball invented, eskimo pie patented, debut of polaroid camera, first laundromat opens.

gift-a-day #8 ... take note!

have you guys seen the newest amy butler journal? it's just dreamy. love the patterns and colors. and honestly, the inside is just as beautiful as the outside. add a couple of staedtler fine line markers and you've got the perfect gift for your amy butler fan.

short story ... not long after we opened the summer of '07 and couple of women came in the store and one of them said to the other something like "look, here are amy's papers, i haven't seen them in person yet". They were oohing and ahhhing when I asked them if they were familiar with amy's work? to which they replied that they both worked for her!!!! one of the women said she worked as one of her designers in ohio, and the other explained that she was the other woman's mother and that she too worked for amy, as a seamstress (in new york). so whenever you see an amy butler pattern or idea she probably sewd it. how cool is that?!

gift-a-day #5 ... stuff it!

how cute is this? my friend julie louris (of duetta , my favorite store) makes the most fabulous stockings. since julie's store closed due to water damage, i jumped on the opportunity to carry her stockings at pulp fashion. we have a nice collection and i am just so thrilled to have these scrumptous works of art to look at every day.

i just had to share ...

this advent calendar my friend jayne and i made. it was the inspiration for our gift-a-day event for december. we had such a great time coming up with the design, and it's always a good time when the two of us collaborate. here's to more projects jayne!

To birch or not to birch

Lauragami's fine cardinal work. Amazing stuff.

Eight foot tall paper birch trees, red feathers and origami cardinals. It was a winter-wonder delight. The best part, was the night view of the glowing birch tree windows. The tag line on exterior view"I heart Stillwinter" was a play on Stillwater and the fact that winter last nearly forever in the heart of Minnesota. So the cold days will come again. . . brrrr

not a paper cup ...

looks like your average paper coffee cup, right? a witty design which turns an everyday disposable coffee cup into a long lasting, valuable product you want to keep. the double walled porcelain cup and silicone lid insulate your drink, keeping it either hot or cold and ensuring that you won't burn your fingers. microwave and dishwasher safe, too!

I'm Turning Japanese!

I couldn't help but notice all the Japanese-influenced products at this years' Stationery Show in New York. I'm quite drawn to it, and couldn't wait for this line of office/organizational products to arrive. My boys will each be using the Grafik Agenda when they return to college and high school this fall. I already have a blue Swingbird two-sided tape dispenser on my desk, and the animal paper clips have been a big hit, especially penguins.
